Please don't link to blogspam, meaning blogs or websites that are simply re-hosting articles/information ripped off from other sites. When I experienced the problem it would manifest with seemingly random tracks.

The way I fixed this was by completely uninstalling the Google Music extension, fully exiting chrome (closing all the background process as well), the reopening chrome and going to Google Play Uncheck Lock after...
