Since 5 minutes, I am evaluating this tool and it turns out to be very comprehensive in features and it runs quite fast as well. I have used the import/export function, but that doesn't remove an appointment which has been deleted. By default the synchronization is bi-directional, but you can change this when you install the utility or from the options dialog. Whatever system you're using, look at the forums: they're full of desperate people asking why various common aspects of basic calendar functionality won't work.
